Asset Overview
This is an anatomical cross section of a plastinated Yucatan (Mini) Pig heart. The cranioventral side of the heart, equivalent to the Anterior of a human heart, is on the left, and the caudodorsal side, posterior of a human heart, is on the right. [Animal models](http://www.vhlab.umn.edu/atlas/comparative-anatomy-tutorial/index.shtml) are useful for cardiac research to study effects of drugs, devices, and anatomical differences before products can go to clinical trials.
