Borean Flame Sword

The Flame Sword (Athiclas) is the largest and rarest type of sword found in Borea. Like its real world counterpart, it was designed to counter polearms, but also proves a significant advantage against most other melee weapons. The blade is 85cm (33.5") long, the entire sword is 170cm (67") long and weighs about 4kg (~8.8 lbs). Only the tallest soldiers are are chosen to train with the flame sword, and any fighter on a battlefield knows, if he got the attention of a Tenbáthagan (fire warrior) wielding one of these swords, he is in serious trouble. Especially considering that fire warriors like to dip their blades in tar or pitch and light them, turning the figurative "flame sword" into a literal one.
