Commissioned specifically to destroy Gorgons and other Monsters Gorgon Slayer is more sword than any normal man could hope to handle.
With a blade of five feet long and eight inches wide the swords stands a little over 7 feet tall and is far to heavy to be practical. This is an intentional part of the design. The fluting down the center is actually a core of Cave Iron, a metal with poor edge properties but high strength and weight. The rest of the blade, guard and tang are a single piece of hardened steel. One of the downsides to its construction, other than its ridiculous weight, is that Cave Iron can not hold any form of enchantment so the whole of the blades power comes from its shear weight. It is said that any man who is capable of hefting Gorgon Slayer would be able to fell an oak tree in a single blow.
