Model 1887 - Rusty Lever Action Shotgun

This was something I started about a year ago and then came back to recently. When I came back to the project I was actually surprised to see how much my modelling skills had improved (or rather how much I had to fix ;) My goal with this project was to improve my reference gathering and baking skills. The baking process for this model was a lot less painful than previous ones as I have a much better grasp now. I also did a better job of utilzing zbrush to add one off details for the bake (such as the dent in the barrel and the scratches in the wood. For reference gathering I did a lot more research rather than just finding pictures, I actually found out why people saw off the trigger guard (so they can flip cock the gun properly) and whatnot. Aside from reference gathering and baking techniques my biggest takeaway from this project was that I should model all the parts seperately for guns in the future. Overall I had a lot of fun modelling this weapon and I feel like I've learned some important techniques.
