Despite the fact that I have never touched Overwatch, I have always greatly appreciated the designs and art direction of the game as well as the short films and other productions related to the Overwatch universe. So I decided to reproduce the hammer Reinhardt, a playable character. I chose this weapon mainly because I did not want to work on another firearm, but also because I found the concept of a boost hammer intriguing but also rather impratical. I tried to stay at a rather low polycount, as if I was making an actual asset for a game. The modeling was done in Maya with the avaible concept arts from the original weapon, the textures in Substance Painter and the rendering in Unreal. One of the render was also made in Iray for Substance as a test.
