The Salmons moved into this native American site and built this ranch house that later became the bunk house. The logs were cut into slabs by cutting along their length using a circular saw to create rough lapped siding. This style of home really is one of the first of what later is called a "ranch style home". Notice the rock wall and tree in front of the home is part of its fortification. The interior walls have some plaster.
