This model shows the reconstruction of an Iron Age hut that was excavated during various campagins around 1990. The excavations yielded the remains of a well-preserved hut structure (30 sq meter) which has been reconstructed after excavation.
The walls are made with the *terra-pisé* technique (pressed earth). Several posts outside the perimeter of the wall impart rigidity to the hutwalls. The hut seems to have been destroyed by a sudden fire.
A curious find are the skeletal remains of a domestic cat, trapped in the corner of a hut.
This model is based on a series of photos taken in the winter of 2013. Additional photos were taken in 2015. Unfortunately, the area is poorly maintained leading to a poor coverage of the roof due to nearby trees.
