Asset Overview

During the month of May 2021, a team of archaeologist lead by Alfredo González-Ruibal began its fieldwork in Valle de los Caídos (Madrid), it was the first archaeological work taken in what was planned as a monument for the fallen, of the nationalist side, diring the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). Its construction comenced in 1940 and extended to 1958. For its edification , the regime used all kinds of war and political prisoners and free-workers. At the begining, the organization was random but early, as a result of the poor health and the succesive epidemics, came clear that a proper organization was needed. Workers and prisoners were concentred in barracks with some bathrooms, storage barracks, etc. The model uploaded correspond to the fountain close to the workers' barracks in the Banus camp, the hardest. It was made very poorly, with concrete and different kinds of bricks. The families of the workers and prisoners were living in slums surrounding the barracks we dig several of these https://skfb.ly/oox7R
