Asset Overview

This cluster of walls, floors and debris linked to the bedrock are what remain of three houses built up by the relatives of the prisoners who worked in the construction of el Valle de los Caídos. They are located close to the monument entrance in what was known as the San Román camp. It was the biggest of the three in the valley. In it free-workers and prisoners, stationed in the barracks, lived with their families. The majority of the barracks, stores and, even, the football camp were destroyed as soon as the construction of the monument finished.
