Asset Overview

The King County Courthouse in Seattle, designed by architect A. Warren Gould, was completed in 1916. This five storey building is a typical example of civic building design in early 20th century America. The style is Beaux Arts, which was the conservatively acceptable style for any civic building of the period. In 1929, Henry Bittman and his associate, J.L. McCauley, began the second phase of construction with the addition of six stories to be completed by 1931. In 1967, a large remodelling project was undertaken by the architectural firm of Paul Delaney and Associates giving the interior a modernising facelift. In 1987, the King County Courthouse was registered as a King County landmark. This not only placed importance on the structure as a historical marker, but it also encouraged restoration of the building. The textures have been created in Substance Painter and Designer specifcally for this model to give it a high quality, realist look.
