The southern portal of a tunnel on the now closed Whitby branch of the North Eastern Railway. The branch only operated from 1883 to 1958. This tunnel runs for some 1.5km from Sandsend to Kettleness on the North Yorkshire coast. Whilst much of the old line is now a footpath, the tunnels are shut as they are clearly dangerous. The northern portal of a nearby tunnel has already collapsed despite iron supports erected in the 1950's.
Not an easy model to make. No decent camera available at the time so a combination of phone camera images and basic drone acquired data.
