Parque Copan (design proposal)

Urban heat, pollution, noise, overcrowding are urgent problems of high density cities. Density in metropolitan areas is inevitable, and is merely the issue. However, the neglect of public space in favor of long-distance individual transport is highly inefficient and damaging. This manipulated point cloud model based on lidar measures is an absurd, yet tempting reimagination of Niemeyer's Edifício Copan. Instead of busy roads, the buildings are surrounded by an utopian urban park. However, with growing environmental pressure, such urban acclimatization landscape might after all forecast an inevitable solution for resilient future cities.
