The hilt-piece of Dirhael’s shattered sword, the broken blade is still a lethal implement, re-named Acharn, meaning “vengeance” in Sindarin, and likewise re-purposed as a silent implement to enact its namesake upon Sauron’s armies. This is the dagger used by Dirhael’s father, Talion, A ranger of the black gate bonded with the Elven wraith Celebrimbor, Master of the smiths of Eregion and maker of the rings of power. Talion fought against the forces of Sauron for decades before he was betrayed by Celebrimbor and was forced to take Isildurs ring of power. After retaking Minas Morgul he eventually became a Nazgul and helped hunt the Hobbit Frodo Baggins. Talion finally got his peace when the one ring was destroyed and he was released from the Dark Lords hold.
