Gomphothere mandible originally described (Shotwell and Russell 1963) as *Platybelodon* from Black Butte fauna, Juntura formation, Malheur county, OR. Recently described as the new species, *Eurybelodon shoshanii* (Lambert 2016). Specimen is in the collection of the University of Orgeon, Museum of Nature and Culture, Eugene, OR. Lambert, W. D.
