Blue Antelope (NHMW-Zoo-MAMM ST715)

3D scan of a mounted skin of the only remaining female blue antelope. *Hippotragus leucophaeus* was the first large mammal species in Africa to be driven to extinction by humans in modern times. No more than six specimens of this species (publication by [Hempel et al. (2021)](https://doi.org/10.1038/s41598-020-80142-2)) are known to have been preserved, and this one is the only remaining female, which makes it one of the most exceptional specimens of the NHM Vienna. In order to protect this unique specimen, it is not on display.
