Asset Overview

Bust of a rhetorician, 200-235 CE, minor asia, Smyrna ('Diana's Bath'), marble, Cinquentenaire Museum (Brussels, Belgium). Made with ReMake and ReCap from Autocad. This portrait is preserved, as its counterpart, in an exceptional way: the nose is intact, the polish of the flesh on the forehead still visible, the bust, the tablet and its base those of origin. Moreover, the quality of the execution is remarkable. The two men have the bare chest, one shoulder covered with a drape in the Greek fashion, thus indicating their will to be represented as scholars.
