A chalcidian helmet type
The Chalcidian was used between the VI until the IV Century BC, simultaneously with the Corinthian helmet. With the last one, it was also one of the main helmet worn by hoplit during greek antiquity time. There are multiple types and provides for the warrior a better view and a better clear hearing than the Corinthian helmet during the battlefield.
The archaeologists found many of this one in South Italia (Magna Græcia) as well as in the Peloponesian peninsula (like Olympie sanctuary), or other country like Balkan, Macedonia etc... It is often depicted on Chalcis pottery, an important city on Euboea lsland, which gave his name.
