Asset Overview

The Serreta cave is located in the municipality of Cieza, in the region of Murcia (Spain). It is a cave located in one of the walls of the spectacular Almadenes Canyon, at the bottom of which the Segura River runs. Inside there are some paintings of Post-Palaeolithic Rock Art declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1998. During the excavations carried out inside, it was possible to locate remains from the Neolithic era such as ceramics, bone objects and some stone mills. Numerous remains from Roman times (3rd and 4th centuries AD) were also found, something very rare. We want to thank Joaquín Salmerón, Director of the Cieza City Council's Historical Heritage Service, for the facilities he has given us and for his cooperation. 3D models made using 905 drone images and 85 FARO Focus3D scan positions. Both models made in Reality Capture software and then the two models were aligned in Geomagic Wrap. Additional Processing completed in Meshlab and Blender.
