Ichinoe Nanushi Yashiki is the residence of the Tajima family, who established new rice fields in this area in the early Edo period. The Tajima family had been the masters of the Ichinoe rice fields for generations.
The current main building was reconstructed during the An'ei era (1772-1780), but the house with its forest and moat still retains its original appearance.
The grounds and the main building are open to the public, and various events are held according to the season.
