This sculpture by Daniel Chester French (1850-1931) is located on the Place d'Iéna and portrays the first President of the United States. In his right hand, he is holding a sabre/sword.
This statue was gifted back in 1900 by american women. On the side, an inscription reads "Offert par les femmes des États-Unis d'Amérique en mémoire de l'aide fraternelle donnée par la France à leurs pères pendant la lutte pour l'indépendance".
