Asset Overview

Govan 13 ([Stirling Maxwell's numbering](https://archive.org/details/sculpturedstone00maxwgoog/page/n30/mode/2up); ECMS 38) is one of 31 early medieval recumbent cross-slabs originally recorded at Govan Old in 1899. This is currently displayed upright and against the wall of the church, but these monuments would have originally laid flat in the churchyard, likely marking the grave of a significant early medieval individual. Like many of the recumbent monuments, the stone was reused sometime between the 16th and 19th centuries, evidenced by the addition of initials. Similar in design to [Govan 20](https://skfb.ly/6ZT9H). This 3D model was created as part of Dr Megan Kasten’s PhD, available here: http://theses.gla.ac.uk/74266/. The 3D model was created with SfM photogrammetry, using Agisoft Metashape, and edited with Zbrush. While the download of this 3D model is free, if you are able please consider supporting the Govan Stones by donating to the [Govan Stones Appeal](https://tghts.enthuse.com/profile).
