Gross-Messer / Гросс-Мессер

Gross Messer, Messer - a type of German late medieval edged weapons, close to the falchion. It was used to a limited extent by landsknechts in armed conflicts of the 15th-16th centuries. The total length of the weapon is about 1-1.2 m, of which about 80 cm falls on the blade. The blade is most often without fuller, slightly curved, the end is trimmed. The hilt consists of a transverse guard, most often a straight one, and a dowel on the right side of the guard along the blade that protected the fighter's hands. Гросс-мессер, мессер — тип немецкого позднесредневекового холодного оружия, близкого к фальшиону. Ограниченно применялся ландскнехтами в вооружённых конфликтах XV—XVI веков. Общая длина оружия — порядка 1—1,2 м, из которых около 80 см приходится на клинок. Клинок чаще всего без дола, слегка искривлён, конец подрезан. Эфес состоит из поперечной гарды, чаще всего — прямой, и нагеля с правой стороны гарды вдоль клинка, защищавшего руки бойца.
