Henry VII Chapel Seat

An example of one of the hinged oak seats (misericord) in the Henry VII Chapel in Westminster Abbey, London. This seat is second from the west, on the north side, lower section. The wood carving depicts: "David and Goliath. David stands beside the headless body of the giant and an elaborate, but damaged, scene probably showed him returning in triumph bearing the head of Goliath.
