Montemor-o-Novo's Castle

The castle comprises the original enclosure of the medieval village of Montemor-o-Novo. The virtual tour we present to you has the approximate length of a 1,5 Km and starts in the former Church of S. Tiago / Interpretive Center of the Castle. It goes through the streets of the centuries-old intramural village and gives you a better understanding of both the past and the present of this place. This model is one result of Global Digital Heritage's campaign in Alentejo (Portugal) in 2019. A product of the processing in Reality Capture of the 15.306 photos of two drones working on site, one by Miguel Angel Hervás (Baraka Arqueólogos S.L.) and the other by João Marques (GEODRONE). The campaign was supported by Montemor-o-Novo's Municipality, Évora's Municipality and Direção Regional de Cultura do Alentejo.
