Pompeii - VI.8.22 - Mosaic Fountain

This large mosaic fountain is built up against the back wall of a small peristyle in the Casa Della Fontana Grande (VI.8.22). It was scanned as part of the 2022 Pompeii Water and Sanitation Project field school run by the University of Missouri. The facade of the fountain is covered in lavish mosaics bordered by seashells, with a large pool in front. Two marble masks with traces of paint flank the central alcove. In the pool is a pedestal with a small statue - this statue is not original but is a copy of a statue from a neighboring house. Photo alignment was run on high, model generated on medium - model has been decimated for export, and made manifold for 3D printing.
