Asset Overview
Sokol tower is the Dubrovnik Republic's defensive fortress strategically situated at the border with former Ottoman Empire. It is located in the village Dunave, more precisely on a 25 metres high inaccessible rock. The tower was known long before the Republic came into its possession. Continuity of life around the tower can be traced from prehistory. In prehistory the tower was used as a hillfort, protecting its nearby villages.
