Also, holy shit why did I just have to figure out the plugin manager for maya that hid the export files! sereously, I've been sitting on this completed model for 1 and a half weeks and almost didn't figure it out!
in short, HEART ATTACK AVERTED!
I'll try the higher polly doge next and compare
