Subhyracodon was a genus of rhinoceros from the late Eocene to late Oligocene of North America. They were cow-sized herbivores that are part of the early true rhinoceros evolution, originally starting in Asia but migrating througout Eurasia and North America during the Eocene. Subhyracodon represents the earliest large-bodied rhinoceros organism in North America, with many of the later rhinos in North America deriving from Subhyracodon. This specimen shows the dentary.
