This fossil stump is situated on the sea shore just west of Crail harbour in Fife.
The rocks in this area are from the Carboniferous period and date to around 335 million years old.
There are a number of fossils to be found in situ in this area which is a protected site and of scientific interest. Notably there can be seen Arthropleura tracks on some sections of rock, however I wasn't able to record these today due to the incoming tide.
