Shiitake Mushrooms Opened

This a Shiitake grow kit from Far West Fungi shot at the end of the first flush. These mushrooms were left on to open up and photograph while the others were harvested can eaten a few days ago. The idea of photographing the forest of mushrooms from Jules Verne's book and movies seems to have finally come be reasonably approximated. And these are like growing your own steak without the impact, this is grown on rice hulls and sawdust.
