Materials: Synthetic silk, seed beads.
Synthetic silk tapestry with colorful seed beads portraying the Lwa (spirits, Lwa is sg. and pl.) Èzili Freda, Danbala, and Ayida Wèdo. This flag is more characteristically colored green for the sprits Danbala and Ayida Wèdo (both associated with green and white), and includes peach colored leaves, and black candles. A gold cosmic egg sits at top with Èzili Freda's signature heart vèvè (sacred drawing) at center. Haitian Vodou drapo are used in ceremonies to honor the spirits. They have also become a major tourist art attraction. The spirit Èzili Freda is a Lwa of love, fortune, abundance, and business savy, so her vèvè (sacred drawing) is a pink or red heart (featured center)...
