Shaqri Canyon, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Also known as al-Shaq, the "Great Canyon of Arabia". In Northwestern Arabia near the Gulf of Aqaba branch of the Red Sea. 28° 4'0.23"N 35°54'18.05"E For those interested in geology, these two rock units are the equivalent of the Tapeats Sandstone and crystalline basement rock seen at the bottom of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. The Tapeats Sandstone can be traced across the United States, Northern Africa, and into Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Jordan.
