Asset Overview

**Location:** Playa Monsul, Cabo de Gata Natural Park, Spain **Longitude:** -2.146834 **Latitude:** 36.730900 A massive autoclastic breccia deposit, containing pebble- to cobble-sized angular rock fragments of basaltic andesite in a fine grain matrix of the same composition. Many clasts have jigsaw-fit textures and radial fracture patterns, typical of subaqueous emplacement. A clastic dyke cuts vertically through the deposit (annotation 3). This dyke shows flow structures that are likely the result of heated water shooting upwards through a fracture, releasing pressure.
