Asset Overview
This is a photogrammetric reconstruction of a deep sea hydrothermal vent off the coast of San Diego, CA. The vent is approximately 1.5m tall and is covered with a thick matte of white bacterial colonies. Source imagery for this vent was taken by ROV Doc Ricketts in 2020 aboard MBARI's R/V Western Flyer during an expedition led by Dr. Victoria Orphan and Dr. Shana Goffredi.
