Asset Overview

A nice *Pinna rudis* met in Scandola, Corsica, France.... *Pinna rudis* is a big rare mollusc in the Mediterranean. It grows on rocky bottoms from the surface up to 60 meters of depht, mostly in shady areas. The triangular shell is very fragile and has large scales in the form of tiles. It feeds by filtering phytoplankton. For this it is implanted in the ground and tilts towards the current. Underwater photogrammetry carried out as part of a collaboration between Septentrion Environnement and LIS (Laboratory of Computer Science and Systems) Aix-Marseille University, UMR CNRS 7020.
