Asset Overview

Mineral used in jewelry and decorative objects. It is usually blue or blue-purple in color, and may show white veins of calcite. It rarely forms crystals and resembles lapis lazuli, but it is lighter than this and does not usually contain pyrite inclusions. It can be fluorescent. It occurs in sodium magmatic rocks and the state of Bahia is the main Brazilian producer.
