This is a human heart that was donated for research. The donor was a 53 year old male with a history of Type II Diabetes, hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol), and a myocardial Infarction ("heart attack"). This heart was treated with a 3D scanning spray and suspended from attached cannulas with alligator clips.
We partner with [LifeSource](https://www.life-source.org/) to receive donated organs deemed not viable for transplant.
