This is a perfusion fixed human heart that was donated for research. The donor was a 64 year old female with a history of a stroke and chemotherapy. In addition, this heart has some unique great vessel anatomy; the Brachiocephalic and left common carotid arteries stem from a single common artery off of the aorta. While not well visualized by the 3D scan, there is also an additional right pulmonary vein. A light coating of 3D scanning spray was applied to facilitate the image capture. This heart uses reference number: Heart0573.
We partner with [LifeSource](https://www.life-source.org/) to receive donated organs deemed not viable for transplant.
