Asset Overview

The South Dakota- class of Battleships was one of the two "treaty battleships" built by the US Navy in the late 1930s. They were based on the peceeding North Carolina-class and were highly capable for their small size. Four ships were built: South Dakota, Indiana, Massachusetts and Alabama. They all fought in WW2 in both theatres and were the backbone of the fleet. One of the most memorable battles includes the fight against the french battleship Jean Bart by Massachusetts. The Navy decomissioned them in 1947 and scrapped the first two, Massachusetts and Alabama can still be visisted as museum ships. This model was made by me with the help of the original recognition manual from the US Navy and features only the most important pieces of detail. I made this model for myself to produce a small fleet, and printed this model with my Resin Printer Elegoo Mars in 1/4000 with nearly no loss of detail. This is by no means a good model, but it is enough to be recognizable at such a small scale.
