Asset Overview
King Gustav III of of Sweden took part in the archipelago fleet battles in 1789-1790 traveling with the fleet. He had two vessels, the larger schooner Amphion and a small yacht Amadis. This yacht was designed by F. H. Chapman. It is similar to other single mast relay and signal boats used by the Swedish archipelago fleet. King Gustav III was on board Amadis just behind the frigates at line of battle at the start of the battle. The Amadis had a single main mast with main, gallant and top, gavel behind and bowsprit and flysprit in bow.
