Asset Overview

The Takao class of the Imperial Japanese Navy was a class of heavy cruisers which saw service until the last days of the second world war. Four ships of this class were built, of which only one survived until the end of the war. The Chokai and the Maya look nearly identical and were laid down in 1928. Chokai was disabled in 1944 and got scuttled later, whilst Maya got sunk by a submarine in the same battle where Atago was sunk also. This model was made by me with the help of the original recognition manual from the US Navy and features only the most important pieces of detail and is pretty similar (nearly exact the same except for the aft mast) to the models of the Takao/Atago. I made this model for myself to produce a small fleet, and printed this model with my Resin Printer Elegoo Mars in 1/4000 and even 1/8000 scale with nearly no loss of detail. This is by no means a good model, but it is the first one which I made with only the help of two images.
