Asset Overview

The Aoba class was a class of heavy cruisers built for the Japanese naval forces shortly after the first world war and were used in the second world war. Aoba and Kinugasa were laid down in 1924 and were sunk in 1945/ 1942. Aoba got later raised and scrapped in the years after the war. They were quite similar to the Furutake class, but were named as a different class due to some differences in their main armament. However, Aoba itself was heavier than specified, having negative effects later in the war. This model was made by me with the help of the original recognition manual from the US Navy and features only the most important pieces of detail. I made this model for myself to produce a small fleet, and printed this model with my Resin Printer Elegoo Mars in 1/4000 with nearly no loss of detail. This is by no means a good model, but it is enough to be recognizable at such a small scale.
