Fixed Human Heart with long Aorta

This is a perfusion fixed human heart that was donated for research. The donor was a 56 year old woman with a history of smoking. This model shows a longer portion of the descending aorta down the back of the heart. The aorta descends from the heart all the way down to the pelvis, where it branches in two.
