This is a perfusion fixed human heart, which was donated for research. The donor was a 56 year old female with a history of Coronary Artery Disease. In this model, the heart was 3D scanned with the vessels filled with foam to show them in their proper anatomical position. Slight distortions around the ends of the vessels are due to cannulae not shown in this model.
We partner with [LifeSource](http://www.life-source.org/) to receive donated organs for research deemed not viable for transplant.
