Asset Overview

HDMS Danmark was a Danish frigate built in 1862 for the Confederate navy. She would be laid down on the Clydebank in Scotland and launched in 1864, however she wouldn't serve in the Confederate navy as she was too large and drew too much of a draught for the coastal waters they would be operating in. Before the ship was launched the Second War of Schleswig broke out between Denmark and Germany, leading to the purchase of the ship by Denmark, however she wouldn't be commissioned on time. She would be commissioned in 1869 and tests showed she burnt through fuel far too quickly and her armament rolled violently, as a result being quickly put into reserve before her scrapping in 1907
