Asset Overview

The Iver Hvitfeldt was a Danish coastal defence vessel. She was laid down in April 1884 and launched in April 1886, finally being completed in 1887. When completed she had an average displacement of 3300-3400 tonnes, and came with 2 -260mm guns as primary weapons, and 4-120mm secondary guns, aswell as a veriaty of smaller self defence guns. Her top speed was around 15.6 knots which is slow in modern times, but average for a vessel of her type.. As for the armour, the belt was 178-292mm thick with the turrets having 216mm, and decks 50mm. As for most Danish warships of the time the Iver Hvitfeldt never saw any major military action, and managed to make it through the great war of 1914-1918 before being scrapped in 1919, as by this point the threat of war was over for the time being, and the vessel was massivly out of date.
