Asset Overview
The New Mexico-class of Battleships was a class of "standard type" battleships built by the US Navy. They were a small upgrade to the preceeding classes and had the same capabilities as other ships of that type. Three ships were built in total: New Mexico, Mississippi and Idaho. All ships were laid down in 1915 and commissioned shortly after WW1. All underwent a serious refit when WW2 closed in and served in the Pacific. These ships were the driving factor when it came to islandhopping. After the war, New Mexico and Idaho got scrapped in 1947, Mississippi got converted into a gunnery training ship and served until 1956.
This model was made by me with the help of the original recognition manual from the US Navy and features only the most important pieces of detail. I made this model for myself to produce a small fleet, and printed this model with my Resin Printer Elegoo Mars in 1/4000 with nearly no loss of detail. This is by no means a good model, but it is enough to be recognizable at such a small scale.
