HDMS Tordeskjold was an ironclad built for the Danish navy in the early 1880's. First being laid down in June 1879 and then being launched a year later in September, then fully commissioned in September 1882. Her life was relatively quiet as Denmark never experienced much in the way of war between 1880 and 1910, and so has no combat record. Like the Norwegian coastal defence ships she was named after Vice Admiral Peter Tordeskjold who served in the Danish-Norwegian navy in the early 1700's, and who had taken part in the great northern war.
The vessel would last up until 1908 before being scrapped that year.
