Hms Inflexible was completed just in time for the bombardment of Alexandria just a year later from when she was launched, during which she would fire 88 of her huge 16 inch shells at Alexandrias forts, along with many other ships being present. The purpose of this was to silence the defences which were in the hands of a group of people who were trying to remove the "Anglo-French protection" from egypt. During the bombardment, HMS Inflexibles main guns killed 2 men onboard itself from the blast near one of the unprotected 20 pounders, smashed up lifeboats and smashed up certain parts of her own super structure. The fighting lasted from 7:07am on the 11th of July and ended when the last fort fell at 5pm.Overall Hms Inflexible suffered no damage from incoming fire, and post examination of the forts sugested that whilst British gunfire had been accurate, t hadn't been very effective. As just at Ras-el-Tin out of 26 guns, only 6 had been knocked out. After the battle her life was peacful and eventually scraped in 1903.
